Nyla Simone Home in Tempe was selected as one of 20 businesses to attend the inaugural "Workshop at Macy's" in New York City May 9 to 13. Owner Maria Benson was delighted to hear that her company was selected for the workshop after she interviewed in front of Macy's top executives in March.
The Workshop at Macy's is a comprehensive retail vendor development program designed to educate, prepare and mentor high potential business owners. Participants develop strategic planning, understand the important components to brand strategy and understand what's necessary to build a successful relationship with the merchant team. The objective is to establish Macy's as an innovative retailer that cultivates small business while increasing revenue and profitability - and the ultimate goal is to become the benchmark for retail supplier diversity.
