After finding success in Chandler doing what he loves most, Seong Kang, owner of Mikado Sushi, decided to open a new location and bring quality sushi to Ahwatukee Foothills.

Seong Kang opened in Ahwatukee in May but his first location in Chandler has been open for eight years.

"The other location was very busy," Kang said. "This is a good location in the Ahwatukee area and it's good sushi."

Kang, who is originally from Korea, has been making sushi for 14 years but he says he's always grown up around it. There are more than 60 different rolls on the menu, all of which he says are very authentic.

"It's always fresh, guaranteed," Kang said. "A lot of restaurants don't really know sushi. This is real sushi."

Since opening Kang says lunches have been a little slow but it's common for a new business. Most of the customers, he said, keep coming back.

Kang says he has a dream of some day opening a chain of sushi bars with his wife, Michelle. For now, they're starting small and spreading the word. Mikado's full menu can be found on their website, mikadoaz.com.

The restaurant is located at 3941 E. Chandler Blvd., Suite 107.

His Chandler restaurant's website shows all the great sushi creations that this guy makes............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....ikura (salmon eggs) with raw quail egg yoke is my favorite...spider roll made with a tempura style soft-shelled crab is a close second...and Ichiban beer to go with it.....you are in heaven. Good Luck on your new restaurant.
