Two photo exhibits, “The Many Splendors of Taiwan” and “Taiwan Plugging into the World,” will be on display 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, through June 15, at Phoenix City Hall atrium, 200 W. Washington St. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

“The Many Splendors of Taiwan” photo exhibit highlights the folk customs that reflect the heart and spirit of the Taiwanese people and the development of Taiwan through generations of hard working people who have created the current optimistic economic and political climate.

“Taiwan Plugging into the World” creates digital images of life in Taiwan and the research and development, implementation and promotion of new technologies that have transformed Taiwan from an agrarian past to one of Asia’s most advanced e-economies.

At 3 p.m. Monday, June 4, the official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be at Phoenix City Hall atrium. Several local youth will be presented with leadership awards to recognize their support and volunteer services in the community.

The Taiwan photo exhibit celebrates the 33-year sister city relationship between Taipei, Taiwan and Phoenix, and recognizes Arizona’s Centennial. The exhibits are coordinated by the Phoenix Sister Cities Taipei Committee and the Arizona Chinese Mandarin and Culture Academy, and presented by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, Press Division.
