The Heard Museum is teaming up with chef Freddie J. Bitsoie for the second annual Harvest Feast from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.
Putting a contemporary spin on time-honored traditions, Bitsoie (Diné) has devised dishes that reflect Native American food traditions from four specific regions: the Southern Plains, Northwest, Great Lakes and Colorado Plateau/Southern Plains. Specialties like apple bacon-wrapped bison medallions with three-pepper sauce and blue corn will share the table with Bitsoie’s take on traditional American Thanksgiving fare: cedar berry and herb-crusted oven-roasted turkey with three-berry sauce.
Harvest Feast is $60 for adult museum members, $70 for non-members; $30 for children under 12. Price does not include gratuity or museum admission. Beer, wine and cocktails are additional. Reservations are required by Thursday; call 602-252-8840, Ext. 2271.
Heard Museum is at 2301 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.
