Dave Trout Charities has committed $100,000 toward the construction of a new facility for ICAN, an after school program located in the East Valley. The money is to be raised through the annual Dave Trout Golf Tournament which is held annually and is hosted in memory of one of the co-founders of Coffin & Trout Fine Jewellers, Dave Trout.

ICAN has been named the beneficiary of the Dave Trout Golf Tournament for the last two years, with the money provided being used to support programming for youth and families. The most recent tournament held on April 9, 2011, generated $22,000 toward ICAN and it's no cost programs. With the capital development project underway, Dave Trout Charities saw this as an opportunity to truly honor the memory of Dave Trout through an investment in the new building project, allowing for naming of the Dave Trout Art Room in the new facility.

The need for a new facility for ICAN has emerged out of significant growth for the 20-year old nonprofit. Since 2006, ICAN has seen over a 260% increase in youth daily attendance, which is coupled with significant municipal growth around the current facility that limits expansion options at the current site. The new 20,000 square foot facility will include 6 class rooms, a technology & learning center, dedicated teen center, half gym, administrative offices and community conference rooms.
