Just heard about one of the coolest high school events I’ve ever come across and I hope a lot of people take part.
On May 17, the Mountain Pointe baseball team will take on the Pride softball team in a slo-pitch game at the campus’ softball field at 3:30 p.m.
They are using one of the 16-inch softballs that are used in a lot recreation leagues in the Chicago area.
If that wasn’t cool enough all of the proceeds for the event go toward helping two Mountain Pointe softball players – Maddie Decker and Francesca Olguin – in their battle against cancer.
Donation are being asked for instead of a set admission price. All the ways to help out the two young ladies haven’t been figured out just yet, but there will be plenty of opportunities to put your money to good use.
I will update as I learn more and we get closer to the game.
