South Mountain Community College is teaming up with outdoor specialists REI to offer a pair of one-day, non-credit classes on bicycle repair and maintenance this fall. The four-hour sessions will focus on intensive bike maintenance taught by an REI Certified Bike Technician and will focus on basic tools and how to use them, tire removal and replacement, brake pad alignment and adjustment, chain wear, wheel truing and much more. Students are not required to bring their own bikes.
The classes will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays Oct. 2 and again Nov. 6 at the SMCC Main Campus, 7050 S. 24th St. The fee is $35.
