Surprise is not exactly close to Ahwatukee, but anyone who cannot afford the $300 plus it can cost to have their pet spayed or neutered might just find it worth the drive.

The Arizona Humane Society is hosting a free spay and neuter clinic that started on Tuesday and will run through Thursday. The mobile clinic is located at the northwest corner of Tierra Buena Lane and Civic Center Plaza, in Surprise.

Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and animals will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited so the AHS recommends arriving early. Animals must be between two months and five years of age and under 95 pounds. Dogs must be leashed and cats crated. No more than two pets per household.

For more information visit the Arizona Humane Society website at azhumane.org or call (602) 997-7586.
