When Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate are as near and dear in your household as flesh-and-blood relatives, you’ve definitely got a case of The Wiggles — as in, the Australian music group popular among families with young kids.

The quartet comes July 24 to the Valley to say goodbye; performers Murray Cook (Red), Greg Page (Yellow) and Jeff Fatt (Purple) will be hanging up their colorful “skivvies” after a 21-year career that’s produced a catalogue of music, television, film and apps.

Known for songs that are entertaining and educational, the show makes a good first concert for children or grandchildren, who are encouraged to sing, clap and dance in the aisles. Concert reviewers at give the band’s live performances an overwhelming number of 4- and 5-star ratings.

And if your youngsters get hooked, fear not: After the farewell tour, The Wiggles will shimmy on with veteran “Blue” Wiggle Anthony Feld and a new generation of talent in the roles of Red, Yellow and Purple.
