Storyteller Loren Hecht to perform at Phoenix library

Phoenix Public Library will host a free performance for families by storyteller Loren Hecht at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., for children 3 to 12 years old.

"Once Upon a Time...Discovering the Magic in Reading" is a high-energy, interactive one-woman show that explores the importance of reading through music and storytelling. Hecht is an award-winning college teacher, author, performer and professional musician. She has a master's degree in creative writing from San Diego State University. Hecht currently teaches writing composition and critical thinking at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
