Tempe police have arrested two men in connection with the September stabbing death of a man found in a trash bin.
Police say Ronald Therman-Lamar Alewine, 23, stabbed Casey Blackwood, 48, while he was sleeping in a vacant foreclosed home in the 900 block of South Maple, less than a mile away from Arizona State University's Tempe campus. A 14-year-old male is accused of providing Alewine with the knife and helping Alewine clean up the scene of the attack, according to Tempe police.
Tempe Sgt. Steve Carbajal said an investigation found the suspects and Blackwood, all transients, had had a previous altercation and that the suspects went to the home -- a known sleeping spot for homeless in the area -- looking for Blackwood.
The suspects face charges of first-degree murder. The 14-year-old, as a juvenile, has been remanded to adult court.
