Music lovers can take in a concert with four local bands while helping Tempe’s homeless at the same time. The Our House Tempe World Homeless Day concert is scheduled 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 10, at Tempe Beach Park. The event features Walt Richardson and the Peaceful Warriors, Shawn Johnson and the Foundation, Sugar Thieves and Rondavous Band.

Admission is free, but donations are requested. Preferred items include socks, underwear, new adult-sized T-shirts, sunscreen, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hats, new twin size sheets, new or gently-used blankets and water.

The concert is one of several new events that benefit the Evelyn Rose Hallman Endowment to End Homelessness in Tempe. The foundation increases access to temporary shelter and support services for the homeless. The foundation has also scheduled events on Homeless Persons’ Memorial Eve, which is Dec. 21, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, Jan. 15.
