Tempe will hold the Valley’s largest Sept. 11 tribute event on Saturday at Tempe Beach Park. The 9/11 Memorial Healing Field includes nearly 3,000 American flags, one for every person who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The day’s events start at 5:46 a.m. with a presentation of the colors, invocation and the reading of the names of the first responders who died on that day. A 7 p.m. candlelight vigil will include music, prayer and guest speakers. Information: www.healingfield.org.
