After three decades as an educator in the Tempe Union High School District, Superintendent Steve Adolph, 54, will resign the top spot he has held since July of 2007.

The Tempe Union High School District governing board voted Wednesday night to start its search for a new superintendent internally.
Superintendent Steve Adolph announced last month he will retire June 30.
The board retained the option to hire a consultant if the internal search does not result in a hire.
