Valley Metro will hold a collection drive at Tempe Marketplace on Sunday to support teens who need basic supplies.

Called the Teens in Need Holiday Drive, Valley Metro will collect twin-bed sheets, pillows, blankets and backpacks to donate to the Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development — a nonprofit agency that manages Valley Metro’s Safe Place program. Valley Metro will match every donation with an All Day transit pass in support of other youth services.

“At Valley Metro, we feel it’s important to be active in the community and support our youth,” said Valley Metro CEO Steve Banta in a press release. “The collection drive is our way of extending our appreciation to riders and the communities we serve.”

Visitors can also enter to win a $50 Target gift card by posting a photo on Facebook or Twitter by Dec. 24 of the Valley Metro holiday bus and light rail train wrap.

The drive runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
