Two Arizona State University students, Chad Watz, an Air National Guard member, and Casaundra Wallace, an Army veteran, were selected as the 2012-13 Tillman Military Scholars by the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Wallace, a Mesa native, will attend ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law in the fall to study in the public policy arena, with a focus on either environmental law or Indian law.

Watz, who has also previously served in the Navy and Army National Guard, is currently working on his masters in social work. He is originally from Olympia, Wash.

ASU is one of 14 colleges and universities that had students who were named to the Tillman Military Scholars. The scholarships were named in honor of Pat Tillman, an ASU alumnus, Sun Devil linebacker and Arizona Cardinal safety, who was killed by friendly-fire in Afghanistan in 2004.
