Residents in one Tempe neighborhood are being told to be sure to keep their doors locked after two women were assaulted in their homes.
According to Tempe police, the suspect got into the homes through unlocked doors.
The first incident was in March, the latest just two days ago.
On Sunday night, three women told ABC15 they’d just moved into their condo at Hayden Square near 5th Street and Mill Avenue.
They were taking a look at a flier handed out by Tempe police describing the suspect as 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, saying the description is “very average, very broad.”
Police say the man let himself in through an open door, waking his victims up by groping them.
It’s a situation that Danielle, Morgan and Stephanie realize is one they could easily end up in after a night out on Mill Avenue.
Blake Curtis said he’s never felt the complex was unsafe, but he has dealt with an attempted break-in and found the occasional staggering partier who’d strayed into the courtyard.
"Being on Mill Avenue it just kind of comes with the territory that people kind of wander in here and you never know what will happen," Curtis said.
