Take time this holiday weekend to roll up your sleeve for a life-saving cause. United Blood Services is asking Valley residents to donate at the community “Saving Arizona” blood drive 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday (July 8) at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
This may be the state’s largest blood drive of the year. The first 500 donors will receive a voucher for two Diamondbacks tickets and a gift bag. One donor will be drawn as a top finalist to win a 2012 Beetle donated by Valley Volkswagen dealers.
The holiday weekend is the most difficult time of the summer to maintain Arizona’s blood supply, according to United Blood Services. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. Visit www.BloodHero.com (enter sponsor code: saveaz) to register.
