TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A Tempe police officer has been arrested for allegedly stealing items from the department's property and evidence facility.

They say 11-year veteran officer Elliot Campbell was taken into custody Tuesday and resigned from the force.

He's facing multiple charges including two counts of theft of a credit card, 10 counts of tampering with evidence, one count of forgery, one count of burglary and one count of theft.

Police say Campbell was placed on unpaid leave April 22 after his driver's license was suspended.

His work vehicle was searched by Tempe investigators and evidence envelopes were located that contained impounded gift cards.

A search warrant was served at Campbell's home. Police found a refrigerator, men's wrist watch and some tools that had been checked out of the property and evidence facility.

Moses Pray: I got scruples too, you know. You know what that is? Scruples?

Addie : No, I don't know what it is, but if you got 'em, it's a sure bet they belong to somebody else!
