A Tempe teacher was arrested Wednesday after allegedly having sexual relations with a student.
Police spokesman Michael Pooley said 36-year-old Nicole Wooten has been charged with three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Pooley said Wooten is a P.E. teacher at the Herrera School for the Fine Arts and Dual Languages in Phoenix.
Authorities said the crime occurred in 2005 when the student was in the 8th grade.
According to the Associated Press, court documents show the girl was 12 at the time and the alleged incidents occurred at Wooten’s residence in Mesa.
Authorities said Wooten has been placed on unpaid leave.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.

Alleged sexual relations with a student.
Sadly, this scenario, if it is proven true, has become the ...."NORM".....not the...."exception".....in our Schools.
ISN'T IT TIME THAT WE PROTECT OUR MOST VULNERABLE TREASURE, OUR MINOR CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL DEPRVATIONS FROM TEACHERS, COACHES AND OTHER SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ???
EVERY SCHOOL EMPLOYEE SHOULD BE GIVEN ......"LIE DETECTOR TESTS"....TO WEED OUT THIS GROWING "CHILD ABUSE CANCER" IN OUT SCHOOLS.
PARENTS....GO TO THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS AND DEMAND LIE DETECTOR TESTS FOR ALL SCHOOL EMPLOYEES NOW..........BEFORE IT YOUR LITTLE GIRL OR BOY WHO IS.........ABUSED.
