Police say a man believed responsible for setting at least seven fires in Tempe is in custody.
Tempe police say 26-year-old Cody Nimrod is being held on suspicion of felony arson of a residential structure and misdemeanor reckless burning.
Police and fire crews responded to multiple trash container fires and a car fire early Sunday in the area of University and Priest Drives.
When officers arrived to the scene, they reported seeing Nimrod allegedly setting another fire in the area of Hardy and Laird Streets.
They say Nimrod was arrested based on evidence collected at the scene and statements made by Nimrod admitting responsibility for the fires.
Police didn't immediately know Monday if Nimrod had a lawyer yet.
