The high-profile trial for the mother of missing baby Gabriel gets underway in Maricopa County Superior Court Tuesday.
Twenty-six-year-old Elizabeth Johnson of Tempe faces charges of kidnapping and custodial interference.
Trial motions begin at 1:30 pm and jury selection starts Wednesday.
Just a few weeks ago ABC15 told you about a hand-written letter Johnson sent to the judge criticizing his abilities.
This is just one of many dramatic details surrounding baby Gabriel's disappearance.
He was eight months old when he vanished in December 2009.
Johnson has changed her story about where her son might be.
Initially she told her estranged boyfriend she killed her son and threw him in the trash.
Then she said she gave the boy to a couple in a park in San Antonio, Texas.
Since her arrest, Johnson has been held in Maricopa County jail without bond.
She has twice been deemed not competent to stand trial, but doctors said she's now competent.
