Tempe Schools Credit Union helps the Tempe Elementary School District start the school year off right.

(Tempe, Ariz.) August 23, 2011 – Tempe Schools Credit Union employees understanding the pinch of the economy on schools and families this year banded together for the second annual clothing drive benefitting the Tempe Elementary School District (TD3) Clothing Bank.

From July 1st to August 12th employees could donate new clothing items or donate $5 a week for the clothing bank. Their donations also allowed them to wear jeans on Fridays. In addition, collection containers were set up at each of the TSCU branch locations and members of TSCU were asked to donate as well.

With the support of our staff and our membership, Tempe Schools Credit Union raised nearly $2000 in new clothing and monetary donations. All of the cash donations were then used to purchase new uniforms and clothes for TD3 students. The Connecting with Kids program is funded through the Tempe Impact Education Foundation which helps provide everyday essentials to students in need so they can attend school ready to learn. With the combined effort of our membership and employees, TSCU was able to purchase more than 125 full uniforms for underprivileged kids in the Tempe Elementary District.
