Extra Innings, an indoor baseball and softball training center in Tempe, has closed.
"We just did not have the revenue to support the rising costs for our second year in business," the franchisee said in a statement emailed to patrons on Wednesday.
The message apologized for any inconvenience with the sudden closure, and said the business has entered into bankruptcy proceedings.
The facility, near the southwest corner of Warner Road and Priest Drive, featured 12,000 square feet of climate-controlled training space, a party area and a pro shop.

I feel bad if their finances were as bad as having to close, but my personal finances make it tough for me to be ok with Extra Innings literally taking a large payment from me on June 11th for upcoming services that clearly were never going to happen. I can't see how bilking families in the end of their run is just a part of finishing up a failed business. It's dishonest and disappointing - we considered the people there friends.
