Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman will participate in the Lodestar Home Run on Sunday at the Phoenix Zoo to bring attention to the issue of homelessness in the Valley. This year’s honorary chair, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton is also running. The event starts at 7 a.m.

The mayors will be in the 5K run. The public is welcome to run in a competitive or noncompetitive 5K, as well as a one-mile fun run/walk.

Cost ranges from $20 to $40, and includes the run, zoo admission for the day, an event T-shirt, and food. This event is a benefit for the Lodestar Day Resource Center, a nonprofit that serves as a gateway to self-sufficiency for homeless individuals.
