A former Tempe police officer accused of posting and selling nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on the Internet has agreed to surrender his Arizona police certification.

Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board says 42-year-old Curtis G. Baumgarth has reached a consent agreement in his case.

The Arizona Republic says Baumgarth is on probation after pleading guilty to attempted computer tampering in January 2009. He also was ordered to pay $1,165 to the ex-girlfriend he was accused of harassing.

Baumgarth was arrested in February 2008 on suspicion of three charges connected to threatening and/or computer tampering. He worked 14 years for Tempe police before he was fired in May 2008.

[sad] See what has happened to our policeing. Because everybody is looking at (NON) violent parasites , we havent been TRAINNING nor doing a exclusive BACKGROUND on our own policeing and there now is a HUGE percentage of men/women that is got the badge that theyve been hideing behind to commit FRAUD internet no-nos and looseing ounces of methanphetine etc.etc. and what I probably wont see them a day in jail and stiil be getting a paid vacation while in motion.
