Immigration issues are big in Arizona, but we don't often hear about what happens after people are deported. The documentary "Tony and Janina's American Wedding" offers insight, following the struggles of the Wasilewski family, who are torn apart when, after 18 years in America, Janina is deported back to Poland, taking 6-year-old son Brian with her.

According to a news release, the film documents the three-year struggle of Janina and Brian to be reunited with Tony, and tells "the untold human-rights story of post-9/11 America that every undocumented immigrant faces today."

You can see the documentary at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Great Hall/Armstrong Hall at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in Tempe. Following the free showing of the film there will be a Q-and-A session with Evelyn Cruz, of the College of Law, and H.L.T Quan of ASU's Justice & Social Inquiry School of Social Transformation.

    Immigration is there for a good reason. Tax payers dollars are not put to use for nothing. Personally I don't care if they are from Mexico or Poland, fill out the paper work, if we want you, we'll let you know otherwise have a nice trip and go back home.

    Immigration is a global process that predates all nations and societies. You mean the regulation of that process. And yes we do want them, especially American employers who aggressively recruit them into the United States. You have my permission to use my taxes to improve your punctuation, i.e. your English usage.

    asuaguila: I assume you are referring to legal immigration as opposed to illegal immigration. We have laws for a reason and folks who break the law should be dealt with accordingly. By the way, I want my taxes to be put to use productively and not to support illegal immigration while the greedy employers get off free as a bird.

    ASU's Justice & Social Inquiry School of Social Transformation.? you have got to be kidding me. Is this where our tax money and tuition money is going? The AZ Constitution states that the education is to be nearly as free as possible. 10K a year, up 2000% from when I started, is not any where "nearly free".

    WHY DOESN'T.... THE ANTI-AMERICAN/LEFT-WING/LIBERAL-DEMOCRATS.....IN ARIZONA UNDERSTAND THAT.....AMERICA IS A COUNTRY BUILT ON..........RESPECT FOR LAW.................ILLEGAL ALIENS INVADING AMERICA IS AGAINST UNITED STATES FEDERAL LAW.
    WHETHER THEY ARE FROM SOMALIA, YEMEN, LIBYA, IRAN, MEXICO....OR...POLAND.
    AMERICANS CAN NOT LIVE IN POLAND ILLEGALLY.........WHY SHOULD CITIZENS OF POLAND BE ALLOWED TO LIVE IN AMERICA.....ILLEGALY ???

    AS FOR ARIZONA'S HARD WORKING TAX-PAYERS SUBSIDIZING............ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY'S ..."JUSTICE & SOCIAL INQUIRY SCHOOL OF SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION.......ARE ARIZONA'S TAX-PAYERS ...SUBSIDIZING....SOCIALISM OR COMMUNISM AT THIS SCHOOL ???

    AS PER THIS...SO CALLED..."SCHOOL"...HERE IS THEIR MISSION ;

    "SOCIAL INQUIRY INTO THE SOURCES AND MANIFESTATIONS OF INEQUALITY IS THE STARTING POINT FOR MUCH OF OUR SCHOLARSHIP. INEQUALITIES ARE BUILT INTO OUR SOCIAL LIFE AND INTERSECTING FORM OF INJUSTICE BASED ON RACE, GENDER, CLASS, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND ..........."LEGAL STATUS".

    ARIZONA'S HARD WORKING TAX-PAYERS HAVE TO WONDER AFTER READING THAT STATEMENT IF THEIR TAX MONEY IS TEACHING ......SEDITION OR SOCIALISM OR EVEN COMMUNISM OR WHAT ???.
    ASK YOUR SELF AS AN AMERICAN...HOW CAN AN ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY'S PRESIDENT CROW....ALLOW ONE OF HIS SCHOOLS TO TEACH THAT ..."LEGAL STATUS IS = INJUST"...........THE ILLEGAL ALIEN IMMIGRATION LAWS HAVE BEEN ON THE BOOKS FOR ALMOST ..100YEAR...THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES HAS RULE THAT THESE LAWS ARE THE LAW OF THE LAND AND ARE ....."JUST".
    FOR ONE OF AMERICA'S STATES (ARIZONA) TO TEACH IN A STATE SPONSORED UNIVERSITY THAT AMERICA'S LAWS ARE ..."INJUST"...IS AN EDUCATIONAL SCANDAL AND MISUSE OF TAX-PAYER MONEY.
    WHEN DID ...ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY....CHANGE THE 3-R'S TO;
    RADICALISM
    REBELLION
    REVOLUTION

    The operative word is "legal" they have to be legal!, being illegal is like a plain American not abiding by the law and we have to pay consequences. Simple abide by the law, has nothing against not loving your neighbor, its was put into the law for a reason, and especially in these days.
