A huge crane is removing the remaining sections of the rubber dam that once held back Tempe Town Lake.
A massive piece of the dam burst the night of July 20, allowing water to pour into the Salt River bed.
Each of the 16-foot tall pieces of dam weighs 40 tons.
Crews have to remove thousands of bolts that hold the pieces in place and then cut the rubber dam into pieces.
The installation of a new rubber dam is expected to take about two weeks.
Once the water starts flowing again, it will likely take about two weeks to fill the lake.
