Ballots due today for primary

Queen Creek voters must turn in their ballots today for the March 11 primary.

Mayor Art Sanders is being challenged by Chris Clark and Gary Holloway for his seat.

There are three Town Council seats open, with incumbent Gail Barney, incumbent Toni Valenzuela, and Jeff Brown and Craig Barnes running.

Queen Creek voters will also be deciding whether or not to extend the mayor’s term from two years to four beginning in 2010.

Ballots for the all-mail election are due to Town Hall, 22350 S. Ellsworth Road, or to the Maricopa County Elections office by 7 p.m.

As of Monday afternoon, Robinson reported a 29 percent voter turnout.
