Peach Blossom Celebration

Explore the natural beauty of more than 5000 blooming peach trees in the orchards at Schnepf Farms, 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road. The Peach Blossom Celebration will feature narrated hay rides through numerous different fruit orchards, animals to pet, coloring contests and delicious pies and pastries. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Feb. 14.

Barrel horse riding

The National Barrel Horse Association, Arizona District 2 will be holding their Spring Fling event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre, 20464 E. Riggs Road.

Writers group

The Queen Creek Writers Group will meet to discuss their craft and to network with fellow authors. Writers of all experience levels are invited to attend. The meeting will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road.

Musical stage show

The Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road, will host a performance of 'Food Fight: The Musical.' This song-packed revue sings the highs and lows of our love for food. This evening of laughs is sure to leave audiences hungry for more.

The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Quilting lesson

Join instructor Judy McCutcheon from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road, for an interactive class on quilting. Adults and children of all skill levels are invited to come and express their creativity at this all-ages session.

Scenery hike

Join in as this ranger-led hike travels to the top of Goldmine Mountain to take in the amazing view from the peak. The hike will take place 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at San Tan Mountain Regional Park, 6533 W. Phillips Road. Remember to bring your hiking shoes and plenty of water.

The event is free, but there is a $6-per-vehicle park entry fee.

Kids' story time

The Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road, invites kids and parents to the library's children's story times. Events this week include "Toddler Time" for those children 18 to 36 months old, which will be 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Children 3 to 6 years old are invited to attend the preschooler story time 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. One parent per child is requested.

Space is limited and tickets will be distributed a half-hour before the event begins.

Winter recreation classes
