Pinal County Superior Court has received an award from the Arizona Supreme Court for programs aimed at protecting children, families and communities, according to county officials.

Three programs were highlighted in the award, and all three resulted from the work of an advisory board of the Pinal County juvenile court, according to county officials.

The advisory group is made up of volunteers appointed by the county's presiding juvenile judge.

The award recognizes a probation work incentive program, an essay contest based on youth perspectives on character, and a youth justice enrichment program for those serving in detention facilities.
