With summer just around the corner, the Summer Food Program, which provides free, nutritional meals to kids under 18, is set to begin in Queen Creek.

The meals are provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture without income requirements. Any child under 18 may come to eat. For information about the Summer Food Service Program, please visit www.azsummerfood.gov. For information about Queen Creek Unified School District’s Summer Meal Program, contact Carol Weekly at cweekly@qcusd.org.

The food sites are at:

• Queen Creek High School, 22149 E. Ocotillo Rd., May 29-July 13, Monday-Friday

• Frances Brandon Pickett Elementary School, 22076 E. Village Loop Rd., May 29-July 13, Monday-Friday

• Queen Creek Community Center, 22407 E. Ellsworth Rd., May 29-July 13, Monday-Friday

• Newell Barney Junior High School, 24937 S. Sossaman Rd., June 4-21, Monday-Thursday

Breakfast is served 7:45 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 10:45 a.m.-1 p.m. The community center serves sack lunch only 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
