Two pygmy goats were just 2 days old when they were taken from the open-air barn near the back of the 300-acre Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek. The goats, part of a set of triplets, disappeared sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to Carrie Schnepf, who owns the farm with her husband, Mark.
"I don't know what people are thinking," Carrie Schnepf said. "It's basically mean. Whoever has the goats needs to bottle-feed them every two hours. We've never had triplets before. This hurts the farm and the people who want to experience seeing the animals."
One of the goats is black and white; the other one is brown, black and white, Schnepf said.
News of the missing goats has prompted 150 outraged comments on the Schnepf Farms Facebook page.
