Authorities have arrested two men accused of stealing nearly 2,000 pounds of copper from a Queen Creek company.
Last month, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced a crackdown on copper theft. His department so far has booked nine people on charges related to the crime.
Bryan Mitchell, 37, of Mesa, and James Nothnagle, 44, of Chandler, are the latest suspects to be booked into the Maricopa County jail on suspicion of burglary. Authorities said Tuesday they found Mitchell and Nothnagle loading a 21-foot trailer on Monday with copper taken from the Empire Fruit Company.
