Queen Creek area McDonald’s restaurants owned by Catherine Sanchez raised more than $4,000 for 16 local elementary and middle schools.
Sanchez’s four McDonald’s restaurants hosted a “McTeacher’s Night Challenge” fundraising event Oct. 3 through Dec. 6. Edu-Prize Charter School and Ellsworth Elementary School won the fundraising challenge and received an additional $500 each.
As part of McTeacher’s Night, a portion of McDonald’s sales during a two-hour period benefited each participating school. The school’s principal and teachers “worked” at McDonald’s greeting customers and handling the registers. Families of students and local school supporters visited McDonald’s and tipped their teachers to help raise funds.
