Mesa's public library is reducing overdue book fines to youths by ... having them spend more time with those books? Yes, the library will let patrons under 18 cut their overdue fees by $1 for every 20 minutes a day they spend reading in December. To participate, go to www.mesalibrary.org and download the "Read Down Your Fines" book log. These logs can also be found at city library branches. Youths can fill out the form and have a parent or guardian sign it. All logs must be submitted by Dec. 31.
