The Olympics comes to Mesa this week. But instead of gymnasts, swimmers and track stars, this event will feature hospitality workers from throughout Mesa as they compete for the "Golden Plunger" roving trophy.
The annual Housekeeping Olympics, 8-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mesa Convention Center, will pit hotel housekeeping teams against each other in a series of challenges. In "Toss Across," floor polishing buffer pads will take the place of a traditional discus, while in "Making the Bed," competitors race to fold, crease, and tuck sheets.
May the best housekeepers win!
