Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies remained empty-handed late Saturday after pursuing a quad driver who had been motoring through east Mesa unlicensed.
Two deputies began chasing the quad driver on foot just before 5 p.m. in the vicinity of 99th Place and Corabell near Crismon Road in Mesa, said sheriff’s spokesman Doug Matteson.
The suspect ditched his quad and began running when a deputy tried to pull him over.
Matteson said the deputies abandoned the search after several hours.
