An 11-year-old Mesa boy died early Friday after a pickup truck driven by a woman seeking medical help rear-ended the car he was riding in Glendale, police said.
Kyle Harris, in the back seat of a Ford Mustang, was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, where he died at 1:15 a.m., Glendale police said.
The driver and front passenger of the Mustang, whose names were not released, were in serious condition at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix.
Police said a Ford Ranger pickup, driven by a 46-yearold El Mirage woman, was going west on Thunderbird Avenue near 67th Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The truck crossed into eastbound traffic and onto the south curb, then drove back into the westbound lane and rear-ended the Mustang stopped at a red light.
The woman, whose name was not released, was treated at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale and released. Her medical condition was not released.
