Mesa is starting its next Building Strong Neighborhoods initiative this month, focusing on an area in the northern part of the city. The effort begins at 6:30 p.m. March 22, when the city will hold a kickoff meeting at Kerr Elementary School, 125 E. McLellan.

The focus of this initiative is from Center Street to Mesa Drive, and from East 14th Street to McKellips Road.

The city has surveyed residents to identify issues of concern, and the meeting allows residents to prioritize what the city will address during a four-week period. Various city departments, businesses and nonprofit groups will join the effort. Participants can enter a raffle for tickets to a March 25 Chicago Cubs game at Hohokam Stadium.

Information: (480) 644-5889.
