The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport will host Gateway Aviation Day on March 12, which is the first open house held there since 2008.
The event will include more than 30 aircraft displays and the chance for kids to crawl into the cockpit of some planes, helicopters and municipal vehicles.
Visitors can see various aviation displays and some of the new projects completed at what is the nation's 60th-busiest airport.
Admission is free to the event, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The airport is at 5803 S. Sossaman Road.
