This Labor Day weekend, Salt River tubers are encouraged to participate in the Salt River Heroes=Litter Zero event by stashing and bagging their trash in an effort to help keep the river clean.
The event started Saturday and will continue through Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
To date, 616 tons of trash has been stashed and bagged during holiday weekends like this one.
If you are one of the thousands of people expected to tube down the river this weekend, remember that glass containers are prohibited at the Salt River and ice chests will be inspected.

Pick up their trash?
Don't throw it down / drop it in the first place.
