Nationwide GameStop and Spring Mobile, GameStop’s technology retail brand, raised more than $300,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation and exceeded the original goals by nearly 250 percent.
The fundraiser was held in May at more than 4,200 nation-wide locations, including East Valley locations.
Consumers were able to donate online or in person at the stores. This was the first year customers were able to donate in-store since GameStop’s involvement with Make-A-Wish began in 2006.
Make-A-Wish fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and has granted more than 240,000 wishes since 1980.
GameStop regularly supports shopping spree wishes for Make-A-Wish kids and has contributed more than $1.7 million in donations to the charitable organization.
