Traffic was snarled for nearly 10 miles in the East Valley after two semi tractor trailers and a pickup truck collided on westbound Interstate 10, causing a diesel fuel spill on Thursday.
The crash happened about 3 p.m on I-10 near 24th Street, and initially shut down the highway, but three lanes later were opened, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Traffic remained at a crawl and affected drivers back to the Loop 101 and U.S. 60 interchange for more than two hours as DPS officers investigated the scene and is expected to be affected into the early evening.
It wasn't immediately known if there were any injuries, but the driver of the pickup truck sped off, according to DPS.
