The Mesa Police Department has arrested a man who broke into a home and fell asleep on the homeowner’s bed on Dec. 30.

According to a press release, 19-year-old Brandon Jay Larsen allegedly entered a home on the 1200 block of E. Indigo Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 and took occupancy of the person’s bed. Police who responded to the call at approximately 12:45 found Larsen in bed with several articles of clothing over his arms and hands.

Officers’ attempts to garner his attention using verbal commands were unsuccessful, and they ended up deploying a Taser to Larsen and took him into custody with further incident. After his arrest, Larsen, who the release states appeared to be under the influence of drugs, told officers he was cold and wanted a warm place to lay down.

Larsen was transported to Mesa City Jail and booked on one count of criminal trespassing inside a resident.
