A Valley woman has quite a story to tell after giving birth in a Mesa parking lot on Wednesday.
Mesa police Capt. Forrest Smith said the woman, who asked not to release her name, was on the way home from the hospital after it was deemed she wasn’t ready to give birth.
But the baby apparently wasn’t waiting any longer and was born in a Dodge Caravan in a parking lot on Country Club Drive near 5th Place sometime after 6:30 a.m., according to Smith.
Smith said the 25-year-old mother and newborn were taken to Banner Desert Medical Center and that both are doing well.
