Woman fighting to survive after fiery crash in Mesa

A vehicle caught fire Tuesday night after a woman crossed into oncoming traffic and drove into a ditch near Ellsworth and Germann roads in Mesa.

The 32-year-old woman was driving northbound in her SUV when she crossed into oncoming traffic, collided with a work truck and drove into a ditch where her vehicle caught fire, according to a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The woman was pulled from her vehicle after it caught fire and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detective do not know what caused the crash and it is unknown is impairment is a factor.
