Guns and lots of them are on display for sale in Mesa this weekend.

Thousands of gun collectors, owners, and more are crowding into the Crossroads of the West Gun Show at the Mesa Convention Center.

The organizer says after the elementary school murders in Connecticut they're seeing a spike in sales of assault rifles, bullets, and ammo clips.

Right now, politicians in Washington D.C. are deciding if the country will change its firearm background check system. A spokesman for the Crossroads show believes changes to the system wouldn't make a difference.

"You can't tell from background checks who's gonna kill their mother and kindergartners; that's absolutely unbelievable," show organizer Jeff Templeton said.

The Crossroads of the West Gun Show continues Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets are $10.
