The Red Mountain Library will host a meet-and-greet with the first person in the country to report on TV while piloting a helicopter on Jan. 4.

From 10 a.m. to noon, former television reporter Jerry Foster will visit the library to speak about his autobiography, “Earthbound Misfit,” that focuses on his career as a reporter. Foster is known as the first person to pilot a helicopter while reporting, often using one hand to fly the helicopter and the other to operate his camera.

The book covers his flying exploits, as well as his fight with personal demons and relationships with friends like Barry Goldwater.

Red Mountain Library is located at 635 N. Power Road in Mesa; contact the library at (480) 644-3100 for more information.
