  "...he saw Mesa slipping from the great place he remembers growing up in..."
  And as long as Mesa continues to propagate a "Sanctuary City" persona, expect the slipping to continue.

  "When citizens have a great job, other problems in a community take care of themselves,”
  But when many of those jobs are taken by people who are here illegally, citizens have a harder time finding that "great job", especially here in Mesaco.

  The good Mayor runs City Hall like a Monarchy. A "benign" Monarchy but still a Monarchy (or at least tries to....lol).

  Watch the Mesa City Council Meeting on the Local Cable Channel. The good Mayor never lets a City Councilman or woman or the City Manager or the City Hall Staff say anything, anything without coming back and "clarifying" or "paraphrasing" or his oft repeated....."WHAT so-and-so.....REALLY MEANT TO SAY" ...or......."LET ME SEE IF I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT, WHAT so-and-so WAS ASKING WAS........".

  WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS THAT THE CITY COUNCIL, THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY HALL STAFF HAVE BECOME ..."INTIMIDATED"....BY THE GOOD MAYOR. HE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE MEANT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN BUT IT HAS..........THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HAVE BECOME THE......"MAYOR SCOTT SMITH SHOW".

  JUST LOOK AT HOW LONG IT TOOK THE CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE A SIMPLE ......"QUICK-STOP STORE".....BEER DISPLAY RULING = YEARS....YEARS. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS WASTE OF THE CITY COUNCIL'S AND STAFF'S TIME FOR WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECIDED IN 2-3 MONTHS AT MOST...........NOT YEARS AND YEARS. THE GOOD MAYOR PROCRASTINATED BACK AND FORTH, BACK AND FORTH INSTEAD OF JUST PUTTING 2-3 PROPOSALS UP AND LETTING THE CITY COUNCIL VOTE FOR OR AGAINST ONE OR THE OTHER AND ...."GET'ER DONE". IF IT WASN'T WORKING FOR THE MESA COPS OR THE STORE OWNERS THEN IT COULD HAVE BEEN REWORKED..........THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOME ONE FORGETS THAT THERE IS NO........"I" .......IN ......."TEAM".
